Know what your team is doing — without meetings
Zlorex is an async team update tool that replaces daily standup meetings with simple, structured updates your team submits via email.
Why we built Zlorex
Every manager has the same problem: you need to know what your team is working on, but the only way to find out is a meeting. So you schedule a daily standup. It starts at 15 minutes, then it creeps to 25, then 30. Half the team says “same as yesterday.” The other half gives updates so vague you still have to follow up on Slack afterward.
Meanwhile, someone on your team has been stuck for two days, but you don't find out until Friday. The deadline slips. You wonder: why didn't they say something?
The truth is, they did — in a Slack thread you missed, buried under 47 other messages.
We built Zlorex because we were tired of this cycle. We wanted a tool that gives managers clear visibility into what their team is doing — without interrupting anyone's work. No meetings, no Slack threads, no chasing people for answers.
The idea is simple: you create an update — a set of questions like “What did you work on today?” and “Any blockers?” — and Zlorex sends it to your team on a schedule. Each person gets a link in their inbox, fills out their answers in 2 minutes, and you see everything in one dashboard.
That's it. No app to install. No account for your team to create. No 30-minute call that could have been a 2-minute written update.
What is Zlorex?
Zlorex is an async standup and team update tool designed for managers and team leads who want to track their team's progress without scheduling meetings. It is a standup replacement tool, an async check-in platform, and a team progress tracker — all in one.
Zlorex works by sending recurring update requests to your team via email. Team members click a link, answer your questions, and submit their response. All responses are collected in a centralized dashboard where you can review updates, reply in threads, and mark items as reviewed.
For teams on the Pro plan, Zlorex includes AI-powered summaries that read all your team's responses and give you a quick overview — who's on track, who's blocked, and what needs your attention. Instead of reading 8 individual updates, you read one summary.
How Zlorex works
You create an update
Pick your questions (e.g., “What did you work on?”, “Any blockers?”), choose a schedule (daily, weekly, or custom), and select who should respond.
Your team responds via email
Each team member gets a link in their inbox. They click it, answer the questions, and submit. No app to download, no login required.
You see everything in one dashboard
All responses in one place. Spot blockers, scan progress, reply in threads, and mark updates as reviewed. AI summarizes everything so you can scan 8 updates in 30 seconds.
Key features
Async updates via email
Your team gets a link in their inbox. They click, answer your questions, and submit. No app to install, no account to create.
One dashboard for everything
All responses land in a single dashboard. See who replied, who's stuck, and what needs your attention — in seconds.
AI-powered summaries
Don't read 8 updates. AI reads them for you and highlights what matters — blockers, progress, and items that need your attention.
Reply in threads
Need more context? Reply directly on someone's update inside Zlorex. No switching to Slack or email. Keep everything in one place.
Flexible scheduling
Daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly — or any custom schedule. Run different updates for different teams on different cadences.
No login required for your team
Team members don't need a Zlorex account. They respond via a unique link in their email. Zero friction, zero onboarding.
What teams use Zlorex for
Replace daily standup meetings
Instead of a 15-30 minute call every morning, your team submits written updates on their own time. You read them in 2 minutes.
Weekly team progress reports
Set up a weekly update with questions like "What did you accomplish this week?" and "What's planned for next week?" and get structured responses from everyone.
Sprint retrospectives
Collect honest retro feedback asynchronously. People write more thoughtfully when they're not put on the spot in a meeting.
Remote team management
Manage distributed teams across time zones without scheduling calls that work for nobody. Everyone responds when it's convenient for them.
Cross-functional project updates
Get updates from design, engineering, marketing, and operations — all in one dashboard, without scheduling a cross-team sync.
Contractor and freelancer updates
External collaborators don't need to install anything or create an account. Send them a link, they respond via email.
Who is Zlorex for?
Zlorex is built for anyone who manages a team and wants clear updates without scheduling meetings:
- Engineering managers tracking sprint progress across distributed teams
- Product managers collecting cross-functional status updates
- Agency owners managing multiple client projects and freelancers
- Startup founders who wear multiple hats and need visibility without micromanaging
- Remote team leads working across different time zones
- Operations managers running weekly or monthly reporting cycles
If you've ever thought “this meeting could have been an email” — Zlorex makes it an email. A structured, scheduled, automatic email that collects clear answers and puts them all in one place.
Pricing
Zlorex has a free plan that includes up to 5 team members and 1 active update. No credit card required. No time limit.
The Pro plan costs $9/month (or $7.50/month billed yearly at $90/year) and includes unlimited team members, unlimited updates, AI-powered summaries, and priority support.
Most teams start on the free plan and upgrade when they need more updates or AI insights.
How Zlorex compares to other tools
Zlorex vs. Slack standup bots: Slack bots get buried in channels and require your team to be active in Slack. Zlorex works via email — no Slack account needed, responses can't get lost in a thread.
Zlorex vs. Geekbot: Geekbot is Slack-only. Zlorex works via email, so your team doesn't need to be in Slack. Zlorex also includes a built-in dashboard, thread replies, and AI summaries.
Zlorex vs. Standuply: Standuply is feature-heavy and complex. Zlorex is intentionally simple — create an update, send it, see responses. No learning curve.
Zlorex vs. Range: Range focuses on team rituals and integrations. Zlorex focuses on one thing: getting clear updates from your team without meetings. Simpler, faster, cheaper.
Zlorex vs. daily standup meetings: A 15-minute standup with 6 people costs 1.5 hours of team time daily. With Zlorex, each person spends 2 minutes writing their update, and you spend 2 minutes reading all of them. That's 12 minutes vs. 90 minutes.
